Kogi guber: Declare election results as they are, SDP’s Adebayo tells INEC

A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its presidential candidate in the last election, Barr Adewole Adebayo, has implored the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to ensure it declares the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State as it was submitted.

The SDP Chieftain is reacting to the ongoing collation of results in Kogi State where the party fielded Muritala Ajaka as its standard-bearer of SDP.

According to Adebayo, INEC must show commitment and nationalism in the conduct of the election, adding that it must not allow its action or inaction to undermine the process.

Commenting on the conduct of the election, Adebayo stated that INEC must understand that the SDP has demonstrated highest ethics and nationalism during the elections.

He said, “SDP has demonstrated the highest ethics and nationalism in these elections. We are loyal to Nigeria and would never undermine national institutions. We simply expect our results in the Kogi State Governorship Election to be declared as it is.”
