Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has sent hearty felicitations to Plateau State Governor and Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum, Simon Bako Lalong on his victory at the Supreme Court.

Bello, in a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, said the judgement of the Supreme Court affirming the election of Lalong was no doubt a well-deserved victory and confirmation of the overwhelming support given to him by the people of Plateau.

He said the verdict of the erudite panel of Justices of the Supreme Court led by Justice Adamu Galinje, affirming Lalong as the validly elected governor of Plateau State has now put an end to the torturous journey of a legal battle.

According to him, the fact that Governor Lalong won all his cases right from the Tribunal, through to Appeal and now, the apex court was clear manifestations that his mandate gotten from the Plateau people remains unshakable.

Bello described the Supreme Court verdict as a victory not only for Lalong and Plateau people but for the entire ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) family as well as his colleagues in the Northern Governors Forum which he (Lalong) chairs.

He described Lalong as one of the strong pillars of the ruling APC, adding that his enormous role in the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last presidential election was unquantifiable.

“With your victory at the Supreme Court, you can now fully settle down to face the business of governance and delivery of more dividends of democracy to the good people of Plateau State.

“I urge the good people of Plateau State to give Governor Lalong the needed supports and cooperation to enable him to consolidate on the laudable projects and programmes he has started as well as those he plans to embark upon for the overall good of the people.

“I congratulate you once again and pray that the God would continue to protect and keep you in good health to enable you to deliver on your campaign promises for the people of Plateau State during this your second term in office”, the governor said in the statement.
