The Forum of Political Appointees who served between 2012 and 2016 under the administration of Capt Idris Wada has expressed their willingness to collaborate with the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello in advancing the State.
The Forum led a delegation to the Kogi State Government House, where they were received by Hon. Alhaji Hadi Ametuo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, and declared their full support for Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
Hon. Barr. Kayode Olowomoran, the former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism and leader of the forum’s delegation, stated that the former appointees, including former Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants, have come to associate themselves with the commendable achievements of Governor Bello’s administration.
They commended Governor Bello’s efforts in ensuring the security of lives and properties in the State and described the administration’s infrastructure development as unprecedented.
While pledging their support to the present administration, Hon. Olowomoran appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello to assist in the payment of four months salaries, severance, and other owed packages to the appointees since 2016.
In his response, Hon. Alhaji Hadi Ametuo, Special Adviser on Political Affairs, described Governor Bello’s administration as humane and assured the Forum that an opportunity would be created for them to meet with the Governor. He expressed optimism that the meeting would yield positive results.
Hon. Ametuo expressed gratitude to the forum for recognizing the commendable achievements of Governor Bello in security and other sectors of the State.
He attributed the success of the present administration to its open-door policy and predicted that the APC Flagbearer would emerge victorious in the November governorship election. He urged the appointees of the Capt. Wada administration to join in building a strong Kogi State.
The Special Adviser emphasized that the present administration holds former Governor Wada in high regard, and the relationship between the two administrations is characterized by mutual understanding.
He assured the forum that the dues of the Capt. Wada appointees would be taken seriously after the meeting with the Governor.
During the visit, the forum presented roll-on banners, billboards, and other campaign materials to express their commitment to working with Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
