Kano govt reiterates commitment to success of routine immunisation

Kano state Government has warned that it would not condone laxity or nonchalant attitude, which would course the hindering of the success of the routine immunisation exercise in the state.

This is just as the state government has pledged to place more emphasis on routine immunisation exercise for the betterment of the children of the state.

The Commissioner of Health Dr. Abubakar Labarin Yusuf made this known while declaring a 3-day routine immunisation annual work plan for the year 2024 in Kaduna State.

He then pledged that the year 2024 is expected to record tremendous success as the performance of the routine immunisation was based on the comprehensive work plan at the end of the meeting.

The commissioner, therefore, urged all the stakeholders who are responsible for the conduct of the routine immunisation programme especially in the local government areas to redouble efforts in the discharge of their responsibilities

He added that the present administration will not condone laxity or a nonchalant attitude, that would cause the hindering of the success of the routine immunization exercise.

Yusuf then commended the state government and development partners for commuting huge resources towards the successful conduct of the exercise and other health-related issues in the state.

Earlier, the Director General Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board Dr. Muhammad Nasir Mahmoud highlighted the objectives of the work plan that includes, including reviewing the status implementation of the 2024 RI plan, highlighting the 2023 key routine immunization achievement, challenges, recommendations and also developed a comprehensive 2024 RI work plan.

Mahmoud then assured the state government that a robust RI work plan for the state would be produced after the day review meeting and therefore urged the participants to be committed and dedicated to the success of the work plan.

While speaking on the occasion in their goodwill messages, the representatives of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, UNICEF, LAFIYA PROJECT, AFENET, BMGF and KSECCOH assured to continue providing support so as to compliment the present administration in boosting the health sector.
