IN its effort to pave the way for the less privileged children to acquire qualitative education, the Kano State executive council has approved the release of N60,032,249.13 to support education and infrastructure development in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the weekly council meeting, which held at the Council Chambers, Government House, Kano.
According to him, the approvals include N34,400,149.13 for immediate repairs and renovation of dilapidated structure at Giginyu Special Primary School in Nassarawa Local Government.
Malam Garba added that N14,068,900.00 had also been approved for the payment of registration fees for the year 2020 National Examination Council (NECO) examination in respect of 1,038 qualified candidates.
According to him, N11,563,200.00 million in respect of 876 prospective candidates for the year 2020 National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) examination under the state’s Science and Technical Schools Board (STSB) has also been approved.
He said that approval had also been given for the rehabilitation of Danguguwa Dam in Tofa Local Government at the cost of N6,928,986.49.
