Wife of Niger State Governor, Dr Amina Abubakar Bello, has stated that the recently released Islamiyya school children were treated inhumanely in captivity by their abductors.
Tribune Online recalls that the school children of Salihu Tanko Islamic Islamiyya school in Tegina, Rafi local government of the state who were kidnapped by bandits were released last weekend.
Dr Bello who is the founder of Raise Foundation lamented the inhumane treatment of the children when she visited them at Bosso low-cost Estate Primary School, Minna where the victims were initially kept. The school children also got medical attention at the venue.
While expressing delight over their release, Dr Bello said: “I am happy over your release children and I commend the state government for the efforts made in ensuring that you all return back safely to the state and to your parents.”
Dr Bello, a consultant gynaecologist, however, advised the children to take solace in God and thank him for their safe return.
She urged the victims to remain courageous enough to get their normal life back and continue their studies when they are reunited with their respective families.
