The Isioma Humanitarian Foundation (ISHF) has quickly become a symbol of hope in Nigeria’s Niger Delta, particularly in Bayelsa State, where it is making a significant difference through its humanitarian efforts.
Established in 2023 by Isioma Blankson, the foundation has gained widespread recognition for its work in providing essential aid to vulnerable communities.
With a focus on education, health, and overall wellness, ISHF is not only addressing immediate needs but also contributing to long-term community development.
Its work is strengthening its reputation as a credible and influential organization both within Nigeria and internationally.
One of the foundation’s most impactful interventions is the case of 75-year-old Mr. Longone Ogulu Koriwarifa, a stroke survivor living in extreme poverty in Agbura, Yenagoa.
Immobilized and forced to drag himself along the ground, Mr. Longone lived in deplorable conditions, with a collapsing roof and no support. Upon discovering his plight, ISHF provided him with a wheelchair, repaired his roof, and cleaned his home.
Additionally, they supplied him with a mattress, food, and a cooking stove, greatly improving his quality of life. This story exemplifies ISHF’s holistic approach, addressing both urgent needs and the root causes of suffering.
ISHF’s work extends beyond individual interventions, as demonstrated by its Elder Smile Project in the remote Famgbe community.
This initiative provides essential support to elderly people living in difficult conditions, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to serving marginalized populations.
By reaching remote and underserved areas, ISHF showcases its ability to operate in challenging environments and deliver meaningful assistance to those who need it most.
The foundation also focuses on long-term empowerment, particularly through education. On August 25, ISHF awarded ₦100,000 grants to seven students from Christ Flaming Fire Ministry, enabling them to transition to Junior Secondary School.
This initiative is part of the foundation’s broader goal of breaking the cycle of poverty through education and empowering young people to achieve their potential.
Founder Isioma Blankson continues to advocate for systemic change, calling for greater collaboration among NGOs and government agencies to create a society where the elderly and vulnerable can live with dignity and security.
