The All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo State, has elected its new executive members.
The Saturday election held at the Heroes Square, Owerri, with official observers, the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) and the security operatives monitoring the peacful state congress.
The former General Manager of Imo Environmental Transformation Commission ENTRACO, MacDonald Ebere, emerged chairman alongside other executive members through consensus, having been thoroughly screened by the electoral committee members.
Other executive members included Matthew Omeghara, Deputy Chairman, Engr Greg Madu, Secretary, Ikechukwu Umeh, Lady Ifeoma Ndukwu, Woman Leader, Nduka Iwueke, Youth Leader and Donald Duke Publicity Secretary.
Swearing-in the executive, the Congress Panel Chairman from Abuja, Godwin Anaekpughe, advised them to work in line with the dictates of the party to move the party forward in win 2023 elections and beyond.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Imo State APC Chairman, Hon MacDonald Ebere, promised to work as a team and in cordiality with the executive members to reposition the party.
He assured to bridge peace, forwardness and fortunes of the party to achieving more goal.
While he vowed to work with all members, the new state Chairman stated his resolve not to disappoint the party and show loyalty and commitment to the APC-led government.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State affirmed that the election of the new executive members of the party would further strengthen the party.
Uzodimma urged them not to betray the confidence the people of Imo State reposed on APC, promising to give the executive members all necessary support to succeed.
