The refusal of the Nigeria Immigration Service to release my international passport has put me in a dilemma as it has stopped me from pursuing my education beyond the shores of Nigeria.
I have been granted admission into Hult International Business School but I am unable to take it up due to the issue of my passport. I started bearing the name Ikoro Iyineleda in 2014. This name Ikoro Iyineleda is the name on my driver’s licence, National Identification Number slip and numerous documents including a post-graduate diploma in Financial Management certificate that I earned at the Obafemi Awolowo University.
However, the name on my international passport is my former name: Adedotun Sanda and it has been a nightmare getting my international passport to reflect my present name as the Nigeria Immigration Service has said it is impossible for me to change the name on my international passport.
I am appealing to the Nigeria Immigration Service and well meaning Nigerians to come to my aid.
Ikoro Iyineleda,
Ibadan.
