The apex regulatory body in the nation’s integrated marketing communication (IMC) space, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), aimed at fostering the development of the IMC ecosystem in Nigeria.
The collaboration between these two strategic bodies, it is believed, would ensure the marketing communications industry operates under unified, professional and ethical standards.
The signing ceremony which featured the Director General of ARCON, Dr Lekan Fadolapo, and the National President of NIPR, Dr Ike Neliaku, would also see to the emergence of a broader collaborative framework that aligns with the marketing communications space’s global best practices.
While speaking on the partnership, the NIPR President described it as representing a collective resolve to elevate the standards of Public Relations and Advertising practices in Nigeria.
He believed the MoU represents a testament to the shared vision of fostering professionalism, ethical standards, and seamless integration within the marketing communication sector.
Fadolapo, while speaking on behalf of ARCON, described the partnership as a reinforcement of the agency’s mandates of upholding ethical standards in the nation’s Advertising, and all forms of marketing communications.
The ARCON boss expressed the belief that the collaboration would go a long way in helping the Council to better regulate and promote professionalism across the industry, while also ensuring that marketing communications contribute meaningfully to national development.
