The Coalition had hinged their position based on the sit-at-home directive by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on the Igbos.
Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday, was the National Chairman of the group, Comrade Elliot Afiyo, said such directive was uncalled for.
He added that the Forum do not support any form of disintegration, but called for restructuring in the overall interest of the country.
Afiyo explained that fifth columnists who are hell bent at destabilizing the present administration and the peace of the country.
He advised the Igbos to go about their normal activities without fear or any form of harassment, saying the argument by the Northern youths are “childish and unintelligent.”
He said, “I want to clear it here that only two out of these organizations that gave this ultimatum are existing. The remaining organizations were sponsored by few elite trying to destabilize the government. I will say corrupt elite who the government is trying to recover some looted funds from are behind this.
“If they are really a recognized and acceptable group like the IPOB, the best they could have come up with is to also call similar stay at home directive and see how popular they are.
There was nothing wrong in the IPOB action, because they were not violent, but if our fifth columnist wants to prove their acceptability also, they should call similar stay at home order instead of wanting to create unnecessary tension in the land.
“I want to say that our good brothers and sisters should throw away their threat and just go about their normal business. And they saying those whose grandparents were born in the North, but from East should go? Go to where?” he queried.
