Nigerian singer and rapper, Olamide has said creating a unique style of music and staying truthful to his craft has helped him to stay relevant in the music industry. With constant questions from fans about how he keeps himself relevant after a decade in the game, Olamide said he is staying truthful to what works for him.
The singer who is planning to embark on a tour that would take him to different cities in the United States anytime from now maintained that while everybody likes to jump on the bandwagon in the music industry, he would rather stick to what has helped him to stay on top of his game.
The rapper in an interview with R revealed that there was never a time he felt like doing what others do or try to be like anybody else, saying there is no secret to his relevance after 10 years other than understanding his music and focusing on how to keep his fans entertained the best way he could.
According to him, music is dynamic and spiritual but one must know how to approach it and keep doing it the best way it could be done.
“People would ask me why I am featuring this foreign artiste or that one, but my response is that why are they not featuring Olamide too? I don’t believe I have to dance to their tune before I can make my song known. That’s the myth I have proved wrong but I don’t mean to say that those who follow that path are not successful,” he added.
Speaking about his new tour, Olamide said he could not wait to go on the tour as COVID-19 disrupted his plans last year.
“The tour is about to kick off. I am excited to be doing this right now because it could not happen last year.”
