Celebrity chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, has opened up about her persistent attempts to enter the Big Brother Naija reality TV show.
She revealed that she auditioned for the show five times but was not selected as a housemate.
Speaking during an interview on Cool FM Nigeria’s programme, ‘The Big Friday Show’, which was hosted by reality TV star Tacha, Hilda Baci shared her journey and aspirations.
She had planned to participate in Big Brother Naija to gain fame before launching her record-setting cooking challenge.
In her words, “I actually tried to get on Big Brother Naija for a while.
I think I auditioned about four or five times.
“The plan for the cook-a-thon was still in the pipeline, so my goal was to go to Big Brother and then come out and do the cook-a-thon.”
Despite not making it onto the show, Hilda Baci later achieved another notable feat.
She became a Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, showcasing her passion and dedication in the culinary field.
