THE senior pastor of Rock Chapel International, Bentox area, New Garage, Ibadan, Oyo State, Pastor Richard Adekunle, has said that if political leaders and followers choose to be honest, Nigeria will be out of the challenges it is currently facing.
Pastor Adekunle stated this during his 60th birthday, which was celebrated by friends, well-wishers, and church members at the premises of the place of worship on Saturday, March 30.
The pastor said that when one looks at the problems facing the country, one would discover that they could be solved with honesty.
He stated: “When our leaders are honest, then they will do the right things for the people. Individually, when we are honest, we will have a cordial relationship with one another.
“In the days gone by, sellers would not stay by their wares in the market or wherever they placed them; they would just put the value of the product on it and whoever wanted to buy would see that and put his own money there. This is just honesty.
“These no longer happen, but if we are honest, then it will make us do the right things and Nigeria will be restructured for the benefit of all citizens.”
Pastor Adekunle charged Nigerians to imbibe honesty if they truly want to experience the nation of their dreams.
Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Paulson Ayodele of Signs and Wonders Church, said that everyone must understand the will of God for their lives for them to live a fulfilled life.
In his remarks about Pastor Adekunle, Pastor Ayodele said that he understood where God was taking him and that is why he is who he is today.
The wife of the celebrant, Mrs Blessing Adekunle, described her husband as a man of God who also cares about the people around him.
Highlights of the event were the praise and worship session, testimonies, choir ministration, exhortation, prayers for the celebrant and his family, and the cutting of the birthday cake.
