Unidentified hoodlums have bombed the country home of a serving Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Chief Ford Ozurumba in Umuhu Okabia in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Ozurumb is currently a serving commissioner under the administration of Governor, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
The incident occurred last night when the hoodlums stormed the community in their large numbers and bombed the house.
Tribune Online gathered that the hoodlums threw petrol bombs into the community razing down the structure in it.
Meanwhile, no life was lost as there was nobody in the house at the time of the incident.
When contacted by the owner of the house and the commissioner, Ford Ozurumba on telephone chat, he confirmed the incident on Friday.
He disclosed that there was no casualty because there was nobody in the house at the time of the attack except the security men.
He said: ” I am in Owerri and people have been calling to tell me about the attack on my house.”
He said that the attackers wreaked havoc with the petrol bomb which they threw into my compound.
Recalled that Ford Ozumba has become the third commissioner in the cabinet of the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma to have his home come under fire by hoodlums.
Among state government functionaries whose homes have been attacked include the homes of Cyprian Okechukwu Akaolisa, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Hon. Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba, Commissioner for Information and Strategy.
Also the home of the member representing Orsu state constituency in the state legislature, Ekene Nnodumele was also burnt down last year and most recently was the bombing of Prof. George Obiozor’s home, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
The Imo State Police Command spokesman, CSP Michael Abattam when contacted for reaction denied knowledge of the incident as of the time of filing this report.
