Gunmen attack Njaba divisional police station in Imo

The Njaba Divisional Police headquarters located at Unuaka of Njaba Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State has been burnt down by some gunmen, who attacked the area on Friday night.

During the attack, the building housing the Divisional Headquarters was equally burnt, just as two police officers of the station were allegedly killed, with the neighbourhood witnessing sporadic shootings.

Tribune Online also gathered that a male corpse with a severed head and one leg was discovered in the community by persons suspected to be the gunmen.

The video clips posted in some social media platform showed the burnt police building at the Umuaka Police Station.

An indigene of the community who pleaded not to be mentioned confirmed the incident to Tribune Online in Owerri on Saturday.

He said the entire community was turned into a war zone following the magnitude of the shootings.

When contacted, the Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Michael Abatham,  denied the incident and the killing of two police officers.
