A group of Ondo State origin based in Edo State, the Ondo Professionals, has called on an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the last Ondo State governorship election, Mr Segun Abraham, to withdraw the court case he instituted against Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the interest of peace and development of the state.
Abraham is challenging the emergence of Akeredolu as candidate of the APC.
However, the Ondo Professionals in a statement issued in Benin by Dr Samson Falana and Barrister Oladapo Ogundare, chairman and secretary respectively, asked Abraham to join hand with Akeredolu in order to move the state forward.
The group expressed concern over the development, stating that posterity gave victory to Akeredolu during the primaries and the governorship poll.
Ondo Professionals said, “Ondo people are not happy with the recent development, more so, when the governor is performing, embarking on people-oriented projects and developing decayed infrastructures.
“We therefore appeal to the people fanning embers of hatred and disunity to sheathe their swords and refused to be used to destabilize Ondo State.
“The court case is uncalled for; it will yield no good result.”
