All hands seem to be on deck for the much-anticipated musical stage play entitled, “ Grain In the Wind- The Musical” come February 15, 2020 at the Amphi-Theatre, Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos. The show is meant to be showcased twice by 2.30pm for the first show with Red Carpet following by 5.00pm and the 2nd Command Performance starting by 6.00pm.
The organisers of the show has put the musical stage play together especially for the season of Valentine to showcase and bring out issues as relating to the society, how love and unity conquers all amongst others.
Black Image Theatre Productions over the last thirty years have contributed her own artistic expressions and played her part in the growth of the creative/arts industry using the instrumentality of theatre (dance, song and play) and occasionally fused with fashion, spoken word, etc., hence, she has decided to collaborate with a bigger platform in TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) in celebrating and bringing to the fore theatre practitioners across Africa under one roof. This stage play is a Valentine Special Edition and it is part of the Build-Up activities that will herald the much awaited TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) come October, 2020 in Lagos, Nigeria.
This stage play is put together by TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF)/Black Image Theatre Productions team in collaboration with Freedom Park, Lagos and Beehay Media Concepts as part of the Love Season special. To act on stage with others casts are leading celebrities and Nollywood veteran like Adebayo Salami (a.k.a Oga Bello), Bose Alao, Adelegan Rotimi (TINSEL/ HUSH), Owen Gee (Comedian), Ara (The Cultural Drummer), Black Image Theatre Productions etc.
In the words of Alayande Stephen T., the Executive Producer of the stage play “the big picture is to bring to our people especially lovers of arts and entertainment a memory that will linger for some period when they come out to see the stage play. It is a pot-pourri of different thematic thrusts that brings issues of our very existence into bigger and clearer perspectives, hence, the musical stage play is expected to thrill, excite, educate, make audience laugh and make them appreciate a piece of work of art. You can come with your families, friends, lovers and everyone to enjoy the production”, he averred.
