The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in advancing the state’s vision for the education sector.
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo made this known on Sunday while hosting the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Prof. Bond Anyaehie, at the Governor’s Lodge.
Recall that Nnamdi Azikiwe University had, last week, announced the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
At a press briefing in Abuja, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Olugbenga Kukoyi, announced Prof. Bond Anyaehie’s appointment, describing the selection process as “thorough and transparent.”
“I am pleased to announce Professor Bond Anyaehie as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University after a thorough and transparent process,” Kukoyi said.
Following his meeting with Anyaehie, Governor Soludo commended the transparent process that produced him as the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
He added that after reviewing the Vice-Chancellor’s impressive curriculum vitae, he had no doubt that Anyaehie is the right person to lead the university to greater heights.
Welcoming Prof. Anyaehie to Anambra State, the governor urged individuals aspiring to public service to emulate the transparency and integrity demonstrated in his appointment as UNIZIK’s seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor.
