Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has declared, Monday, 8th July 2024 as a work-free day to commemorate the first day of the Islamic Calendar, Al-Muharram.

The declaration of the holiday is in recognition of the significance of the Islamic calendar and the beginning of a new year.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Affairs, Mukhtar Gidado in a statement on Sunday stated that, “This gesture underscores the administration’s respect for the religious and cultural values of our Muslim community, offering an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and celebration.
