The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has appealed to members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Remo Federal Constituency to double their support for its representative at the lower chamber, Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga.

The Speaker made the appeal while handing over constituency projects of Onanuga to some beneficiaries of her empowerment programme at the Palace of Akarigbo, Oba Adewale Ajayi, last Monday.

Onanuga, the Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, donated items such as tricycles, deep freezers, sterilizers, generating sets, pepper grinding machines, gas cookers, hairdryers, mattresses, standing fans among others to members of her constituency.

A constituency office belonging to the lawmaker was commissioned by the Speaker.

Gbajabiamila said if Onanuga is given more support for an extended stay at the lower chamber, she would bring more development projects to the constituency.

The Speaker said, “Onanuga has spent just six months at the House of Representatives and she is doing very well. I am sure she will do more if your (constituents) support her and vote for her so that she can stay for a much longer period at the house, just like myself.”

He congratulated the beneficiaries, adding that the APC-led government remains committed to improving a lot of Nigerians.

Speaking in a similar vein, Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who was represented by his Deputy, Mrs Noimot Salako -Oyedele lauded the gesture by the federal lawmaker.

The governor described Onanuga as a worthy representative, promising to ensure the people get good representation at all levels.
