The Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside top party leaders in Surulere, has called on members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the constituency to intensify efforts to register new members, warning that Surulere is lagging behind in membership strength.
Gbajabiamila made the call during a mobilisation exercise in the constituency, urging all eligible residents, both men and women, young and old, to participate actively in the ongoing party membership registration exercise.
He noted that the exercise was nearing its conclusion, with only one to two weeks remaining before the deadline.
“It is very important. We are lagging in the Surulere constituency in terms of membership strength. We need to forge ahead,” Gbajabiamila said.

He appealed to party stakeholders and grassroots supporters to take the campaign to their communities and ensure widespread participation before the exercise ends.
“The exercise will end in about one or two weeks. We want to see our numbers rise,” he added.
Other APC leaders present at the mobilisation included Akinyemi Obe, Pa Adenekan, a former commissioner, Hon. Adisa Bamgbala, former chairman of Coker-Aguda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Aliu Kazeem, and his Itire-Ikate LCDA counterpart, Hon. Kayode Husseni.
The membership registration drive is aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots base ahead of future political engagements, with party leaders stressing the need for robust participation across all constituencies.
Similarly, a party chieftain in Surulere, Hon. Quassim Shittu, urged residents to take advantage of the ongoing APC membership registration exercise.
Shittu said the drive was necessary to consolidate the party’s gains and strengthen its base ahead of the 2027 general election.
“We have seen the positive transformation of the All Progressives Congress both at the centre and in Lagos State. To sustain this progress, we are appealing to residents of Surulere and Lagos State at large to come out in their numbers to register as members of the ruling party,” he said.
He added that existing members also have the opportunity to revalidate their membership, describing the process as critical to renewing the mandate of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 and retaining the APC in power to deliver further transformational changes.
