Foundation supports businesswomen, organises essay competition to boost reading culture among youths

A non-governmental organisation renowned for supporting the less privileged in the society, Baby Blue Angel Foundation, recently doled out cash to women engaging in petty trading to boost their businesses.

Speaking on the motive behind the gesture, the Coordinator of the Foundation, Omolara Ajadi, said: “It has been our usual practice to support the less privileged but this particular one is a special as it is dedicated to the birthday celebration of our founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ramata Agberemi Dabo.

“We selected some women who engage in petty trading and support them with cash in order for them to give their businesses a boost. Also, as part of the celebration and in a bid to improve reading culture in our society, we put together an essay competition tagged: ‘Reawakening Reading Culture’ among youths who are within the age range of 15 to 35 years old and indigenes of Oyo State where we picked the best three and rewarded them with cash and novels to encourage them.”

One of the beneficiaries of the cash support for business, Kafila Nurudeen while appreciating the foundation said the cash support would go a long way in making her small business flourish while thanking the organisation for the gesture. She also prayed for the founder of the organisation on her birthday with a prayer for her to celebrate more years.

Also, one of the winners of the essay competition, Suliat Olamide Nurudeen, commended the Baby Blue Angel Foundation for putting together the competition, saying that such competition would no doubt encourage the readIng of books, particularly among youths.
