Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stanel Group/The Delborough, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, through his foundation ‘Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation’, has empowered the underprivileged Nigerians with over 2,000 modern sewing and grinding machines, wheelchairs, among other essential items to mark his birthday.
The philanthropist equally donated his personal residence to an orphanage and erected a cutting-edge WAEC- and NECO- approved school for orphans and underprivileged Nigerians in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Addressing the beneficiaries and others that graced the venue of the distribution of the items in Jos, Dr. Uzochukwu declared, “I am only fulfilling a covenant made with God today, and I am indeed grateful to Him.”
He urged the beneficiaries to maximise the opportunity, saying, “Don’t sell the equipment. My wife is coming to train you on tailoring and set up a fashion design for each of you.”
Uzochukwu thanked the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, and former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Koroma for giving the widows and the disabled persons the privilege to see a sitting governor and a former president in their midst.
In his address, Governor Caleb Mutfwang lauded Uzochukwu’s humanitarian impacts on the Plateau people and enjoined other well-to-do Nigerians to emulate the humanitarian gesture of Uzochukwu towards the underprivileged in the society.
Gov. Mutfwang said, “I rejoice with the beneficiaries of SUF initiatives and gestures. This gives honor to God Almighty. The prayers of the women and underprivileged will keep you progressing in life. I enjoy other well-to-do and influential Nigerians emulating the donor.”
On his part, former President Koroma thanked Dr. Stanley for his humanitarian impacts while congratulating him on his birthday.
Koroma urged other influential Nigerians to emulate Dr. Uzochukwu to provide relief for the underprivileged Nigerians and also charged the beneficiaries to utilise the gifts with determination to make something out of them so that they would also be helpers to others in the society.
In addition, he donated assorted food items worth over N1 billion through the Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation to mark his birthday.
