The Chief Executive Officer of the MBIG Foundation, Hon. Mutari Bello, on Sunday empowered over 500 people across Kogi Central with various items, including motorcycles, hairdressing equipment, grinding machines, tailoring sets, and other tools aimed at improving livelihoods.

The event, which attracted prominent politicians and traditional rulers, was described as a major step toward promoting self-reliance and community development.

Speaking with journalists during the distribution ceremony, Hon. Bello said the initiative was designed to give back to the people and ensure they enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He explained that the empowerment programme, which had over 500 beneficiaries, was also his way of supporting the state government’s efforts to reduce unemployment and poverty. Hon. Bello commended Governor Alhaji Ahmed Ododo for his continuous support toward the progress of Kogi State and expressed gratitude to former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for providing him with the necessary guidance and encouragement to carry out the initiative.

According to him, he is following in the footsteps of leaders who prioritize the welfare of their people.

He assured that more phases of the empowerment programme would follow, urging beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and avoid selling them.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Mamunat, a hairdresser, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Bello for the opportunity.

She described the gesture as rare and timely, noting that he is a man who always fulfills his promises to the people of Kogi Central.

She added that the equipment would go a long way in improving her business and supporting her family’s livelihood.
