The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has admonished the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyode to go spiritual in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele revealed that corruption in Nigeria has gone beyond the physical and anyone who wants to fight it must be spiritually intelligent and fortified.
He explained that corruption is a fraternity in Nigeria and can’t be fought using guns, law, and technology.
‘’The EFCC chairman should be aware that corruption is beyond the physical in Nigeria, it can’t be fought with lawsuits, guns, and arrest alone, it should also be fought spiritually. To fight corruption, you must be highly spiritual; it can’t be fought with technology. If you don’t have spiritual capacity, you can’t win the war against corruption.’’
The prophet made it known that corruption will continue to thrive in this present government because there are forces that allow it. He commended the EFCC chairman for being passionate about fighting corruption but warned him to be prepared so that corruption would not fight back and indict his office.
‘’The EFCC chairman has done so well, I commend him for his efforts, and he has a pure heart towards corruption but the powers will frustrate him and at the end of the day, corruption will fight him back and indict him if he is not careful. In the near future, EFCC will be changed and lesser power will be given to the commission.
‘’Corruption will continue in Tinubu’s government because of the power that inhabits it. The EFCC chairman will only do his best but the powers will frustrate him and not make him excel as he wants. To win the battle of corruption in Nigeria will be difficult, it has become a fraternity in Nigeria so whoever wants to fight it will be adopted into the system.’’
Primate Ayodele noted that there is a lot to do if the war against corruption is won because the system is greatly polluted.
‘’The system is polluted and if we want to overcome corruption, we need to pull Nigeria down and start from scratch because it is in every sector. There is a lot to do, this government cannot win corruption at all, it’s just sad that the EFCC chairman is doing his best but the power that be is frustrating him. Very soon, people will gang up and start calling for his removal secretly,’’ he added.
