FG trains Ondo frontline health workers to improvecapacity

The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), has commenced a 10-day training for frontline healthcare workers in Ondo to improve capacity.

The program is a pet project of Minister of Health, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate and it is a refresher training for 120,000 Frontline healthcare workers all over the country.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ondo State’s Ministry of Health, Dr Francis Akanbiemu, who was represented by Dr Aderonke Fagbemi, while delivering opening remarks, said, the aim of the training is to improve the the skills and build the competencies of the healthcare workers so as to positively impact health outcomes.

He added that a lot of resources in terms of finances, human and materials have been committed into this training as he encouraged the health workers involved to make the most of the training and ensure that they are available, attentive and actively participate in the training to ensure optimal learning.

The training which commenced in Ondo State, on Tuesday is taking place simultaneously in all the 18 local government areas of the State.
