The chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum and Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Tuesday, commissioned the 30.5km Agbado-Ode- Isinbode-Omuo-Ekiti Road in Ekiti State, saying the state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has laid solid templates for successor desirous of development in the state.
Akeredolu noted that the impressive infrastructural development being witnessed across the length and breadth of Ekiti State, in spite of the manifest downturn in the economic fortunes of the country, is the result of carefully conceived and effectively implemented policies and programmes.
Stressing that the road commissioned is strategic to real development, Governor Akeredolu said very important milestones have been covered and veritable templates of purposeful governance laid for any successor desirous of development.
He explained that there can be no effective rural integration system if there is no good road network, adding that infrastructural development is crucial to the enhancement of the conditions of living in the communities.

“The completion and commissioning of this road project, devoid of loquacious grandstanding, is evidence that the man directing the affairs of the State is determined to bring to bear the quality difference in the lives of the people.
“it is not only a promise kept. It also, and more importantly, confirms good judgement on the part of the good people of Ekiti State in re-electing this intellectual in 2018,” he said.
The Ondo State Governor enjoined the immediate communities benefitting from the project to take ownership and protect it keenly, stating that they must ensure that it is not subjected to abuse or misuse in any form for enduring benefit.
On his part, the Osun state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, who commissioned faculty buildings at the Ekiti State polytechnic Isan-Ekiti, Oye local government area, noted that the Fayemi-led administration has invested so much in the education sector which he said manifested in the establishment of the polytechnic and the construction of the buildings.
Oyetola who revealed that education remained a pillar to socio-economic development in the society, said governor Fayemi has shown, ” he is a committed leader and development-oriented governor in whom we are very proud to associate with.”
On his part, Fayemi noted that the execution of the projects across the local government areas of the state was a demonstration and commitment of his administration to improve the lives and livelihood of the people through the massive investment in infrastructural development.
He noted that the people deserved the best from the government, adding that he would work till his last day in office next year to leave the state better than he met it in 2018.
According to him, ” These legacy projects across the state will remain worthy evidence of the change we promised our people. It is our resolve to leave Ekiti better that we met it in 2018 and we will stop at nothing in giving them the best through massive infrastructure development.”
