The wait is almost over! Following the success of the critically acclaimed Lísàbí: The Uprising, Netflix is set to premiere the highly anticipated sequel, Lísàbí: A Legend is Born, on January 10, 2025. The historical drama, which delves into the legend of the Yoruba hero Lísàbí, promises to take audiences on another emotional and visually stunning journey.

Returning to the lead role is Adedimeji Lateef, whose portrayal of Lísàbí in the first instalment captivated viewers and earned widespread acclaim. He is joined by a stellar cast, including Deyemi Okanlawon as a formidable new antagonist, alongside Odunlade Adekola, Gabriel Afolayan, Muyiwa Ademola, and Jide Kosoko. Directed by the renowned Niyi Akinmolayan and produced by Oyebade Adebimpe, the sequel brings even more depth to the Lísàbí saga.

Speaking on the significance of the film, Adedimeji Lateef, who also serves as executive producer, remarked, “This film transcends entertainment. It’s a testament to the enduring power of Yoruba culture and an invitation for the world to share in our legacy.”

The film’s production was powered by AI Notions, a cutting-edge production engine known for its seamless workflows and groundbreaking visual effects. Their expertise has ensured a level of authenticity and grandeur that elevates Lísàbí: A Legend is Born to a global cinematic standard.

Niyi Akinmolayan described the project as a labour of love, emphasizing its role in bringing African stories to the forefront of global cinema. Lísàbí: The Uprising quickly became one of the most-searched Nigerian titles on Netflix in 2024, signaling a growing appetite for authentic African narratives.

With stunning visuals, emotionally charged performances, and a powerful narrative of courage, justice, and cultural pride, Lísàbí: A Legend is Born is poised to inspire audiences worldwide.

The film will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix starting January 10, 2025.
