The coming on board of a new leadership of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN), the induction of five more agencies into the association’s fold and celebration of agencies and individuals for their contributions to the growth of the experiential industry formed the highlights of the association’s recently-concluded Annual General Meeting, Brands Summit and Awards, held in Lagos at the weekend.
At the AGM, the Tunji Adeyinka-led administration handed over the leadership baton, on completion of its two terms, to a new regime to be led by the hitherto former vice president of the association and CEO, AsterIML, Mrs Tolulope Medebem, with the new president making history as the first female to occupy the exalted office.
Other newly-elected officers include Angela Makinwa, Director of Client Engagement, Strategy and Creative at EXP Marketing Nigeria, as vice president; Olurotimi Rhodes, Business Optimisation Director at iD8 Limited, as general secretary; Olayiwola Jegede, Managing Director of IMinnd Experience, as publicity secretary and Ndanusa Amihere of Town Criers Limited, as financial secretary.
The association also admitted five agencies: Acceler8ted Marketing, Expose Media, Iminnd Experience, MPXM and Red Gecko, into its fold, further strengthening the EXMAN community.
Speaking at the awards gala, chairman of the Brand Experience Summit, Wole Oladunjoye, said the summit’s theme, ‘Unlocking the X,’ was a way of deepening conversation among practitioners.
“The two-day summit, which featured over 30 speakers and had more than 500 persons in attendance, was driven by the need to define what X stands for. Interestingly, we believe it stands for everything that needed to be unlocked in the industry,” he stated.
The summit, he added, also provided the opportunity for industry experts to share their insights on diverse topics, ranging from technology, marketing communications, entertainment, legal and film production.
Meanwhile, the awards, keenly contested in 15 categories, saw Connect Marketing, emerge as the overall winner and recipient of the grand prix, while industry giants, George Thorpe and Kunle Onime, were celebrated with the Lifetime Achievement Awards for their remarkable contributions to the growth of the experiential industry.
