The former Director of Media and Communications for the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign management council in Kwara State, Mr Abdulateef Ishowo, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, Ishowo declared his support for the ruling party, citing its reformative leadership style and political ideologies, which he believes align with youth development initiatives.
According to him, “There is time for everything. It is time to move and align with a progressively minded party, which I believe will move Kwara State to the next stage. That is the APC. It has robust programmes for the youth, especially those in Kwara State.
“I hereby declare my support for the party. I believe good governance shall continue in the year 2027, which marks another general election cycle.”
It is recalled that the former Minister for Sports and Youth Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, left the PDP a few months ago for a yet-to-be-disclosed political party.
Both Ishowo and Abdullahi are from Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
