THE National Vice Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) (South West), Dr. Eddy Olafeso, has said all security measures would be put in place to ensure that Tuesday’s governorship primary election in Ekiti state is peaceful.
Olafeso who stated this in Akure, Ondo state capital, while reacting to the alarm raised by the Ekiti state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, said the party would not rule out the possibility by the All Progressive Congress (APC) to disrupt the party process.
He said “there is nothing beyond them, if they can disrupt their own primary, they see nothing wrong in coming out there to come and disrupt others, but we are waiting.
“The price of liberty is eternal vigilance, we are there and we are watching, we are not going to behave like in the past when we assume that because we are peace-loving, APC will be peace-loving too. If they attempt it they will be sorry but the truth is that we will be peaceful in Ekiti state.”
Speaking on what to expect in today’s primary, Olafeso said: “the election will be a peaceful and carefully organised election.”
He disclosed that the “party primary will be different from the show of shame witnessed in the APC primary last Saturday.

“I want to draw your attention to what PDP did last Saturday by publishing the list of the delegates in National dailies to show there is no hanky-panky, we did this despite presenting the list to all the aspirants.”
Olafeso said “APC went to Ekiti, they were buying votes because they know they are out of touch and out of the reality of what is happening in Ekiti.
“You will be exited at the end of the PDP primary because I spoke with all the contestants and they all know it’s a family affair and that only one person will win and the winner will work with others.”
The National Vice Chairman of PDP, however, commended the party leadership in the region over the success of last Saturday’s rally saying the rally confirmed that “PDP is ready and set to win back the south-west.”
He said “It’s been a tragic three years journey for our people and it’s about time we reclaim our nation and reclaim our people.
“What we did in Osun is just the beginning of our plans to unify the south-west for our party, we want to state to the people of the nation that APC is not the answer, they have been here for three years and we have gone through the worst moment of our times.
“APC is a monster government that is bequeathing our nation misery, pain, untold hardship and total annihilation of our social system, destroying not only this moment but the future and all of us must gather together in unity to ensure that we fight this monster, send them packing and let them know that this nation has grown beyond them.
“PDP is roaring lion and coming back because we have learnt our lesson and our commitments are to the people and very soon you will hear from us what our template and plans for the future would be for the Nigerian people.”
Speaking on the APC government, Olafeso said “they have turned us into the stone era and we are now operating in an era of living in cages and caves, they turned our economy to the prehistory era where nothing never works.
“They said they are fighting corruption and we wonder how on earth are the people that are condemned to eternal flame of corruption would be saying they are fighting corruption.
“The President is just supervising the killing of our people, barely all states have been dehumanised with the invasion of the herdsmen. I felt thoroughly ashamed that the President of this nation will go abroad to say that it was Gadaffi that brought about the killings in his country.
“I want to ask him, what was he doing? We told them at the beginning that what they can do to stem the tide of herdsmen killing is to patrol our borders, but they did nothing about that, and they are now saying it is Gadaffi that should be blamed for what is happening in their own country.
“I take pity that this country took a wrong decision in electing President Buhari and he has shown and proved to all of us that he has no capacity and disconnected with reality operating in this nation”
