The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, arraigned one Ibrahim Yuguda before Justice Maryam Sabo of the Kano State High Court on a count charge of criminal breach of trust.
In the charge, it was read that “You, Ibrahim Yuguda, between April 2018 and February 2019 at Kano within the jurisdiction of the Kano State High Court, being entrusted with certain property to wit: the sum of N10,800,000 million (Ten Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) only, property of Mohammed Ibrahim, did dishonestly misappropriated the money and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 311 of the Penal Code and punishable under section 312 of the same Law.”
The defendant had pleaded not guilty to the charge, and in view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, Musa Isah, requested a date for trial.
Counsel representing the defendant, Aminu Umar Yakasai, applied for bail on behalf of the defendant, which was granted by Justice Sabo in the sum of N2 million and two sureties in like sum.
Confirming the arraignment in a statement, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said that the matter was adjourned till August 16 for trial.
