The Odionwere and elders of Obagie Village in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State said they have concluded plans to commence verification of land and others in the community.
It will be recalled that the Odionwere, Pa. Stephen Osaretin Oyenmwense, had on May this year declared the rightful person to be installed as the village head by an Iguobazuwa Area Customary Court.
Following the court judgment, Pa. Oyenmwense was installed by the people as the Odionwere of the village amid wide acceptance and jubilation.
Six months after his installation, the people said that it was imperative for them to engage in the land verification exercise in order to ensure that there is no aggrieve developers in the area.
According to the leadership of Obagie, the verification which will commence Saturday is expected to end on March 30, 2025 as developers are expected to come with relevant documents for the exercise.
