Panna cotta means ‘cooked cream’ in Italian.
It is made with very few ingredients, and just a simple mixture of cream, sugar, and vanilla. Gelatin is added to set the mixture and create a custard-like snack.
Ingredients
Milk 100ml
Cream 100ml
Sugar 35gm
Gelatin 1 sheet/4grm
Vanilla pod 1/4pc (1/2tsp)
Method
Soak the gelatin in cold water and set aside. Boil together milk, cream, sugar and vanilla pod. Remove from fire, squeeze the excess water out of the soaked gelatin and add it to the mixture. Stir until it is well dissolved.
Strain the mixture and pour it into moulds. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours to set.
Demould and serve with berries. (To demould, submerge the mould in hot water and turn it over on the serving plate).
With the Ramadan festival closer than ever, Panna Cotta is a good idea to serve your guests with without spending so much. And if you would love to spice it up with cakes check out these designs picked for you.
