Dual Realty, a leading real estate company in Ibadan, Oyo State, has tapped into the growing housing demand in the Iseyin town of Oyo State as new public infrastructure stimulate urban transition in the town.
In a statement issued on Monday, the company hailed Governor Seyi Makinde for his intentional development initiatives in Iseyin, noting the establishment of the Iseyin campus for the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), and the rehabilitation of the 1,250 hectres Fashola Farm which was originally established in 1946 by the British colonial government and later developed by Obafemi Awolowo’s Western region government.
In October 2023, over 1,500 students of the University were moved to the Iseyin campus which kicked off academic activities with the College of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resources.
The Iseyin to Oyo/Ogbomosho corrido also recently welcomed the Africatta Film Village and Resorts, established as a private film village and tourist attraction by popular Yoruba Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta.
The activation of the Iseyin campus of LAUTECH, alongside the new operations of the Agribusiness hub, the Africatta Film Village, and the construction of the 76km Ogbomoso-Iseyin road have set up the remote Iseyin town for urbanization, increasing demand for modern affordable housing.
There are also older institutions such as the Iseyin Science and Health Technology, SAF Polytechnic and the College of Education, Iseyin, among others, with growing patronage from within and outside Oyo state.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Surv. Abolade Durowoju MNIS noted that Dual Realty has identified the economic opportunities created by the recent infrastructural development in Iseyin, and it is tapping into it to solve the impending housing shortage that may arise soon.
He noted that Iseyin is fast developing as a result of the recent public and private investment in the town, and it would be wise for people with investment interests to quickly tap into the development drive.
“We have seen this opportunity years ago when Governor Seyi Makinde started implementing some infrastructure projects in the area. And that was what motivated the launch of Dual Residence and Resorts in Iseyin.
“The government cannot do it all. In the next few years, there will be high demand for affordable housing in Iseyin. “Some of the lecturers who teach in the Iseyin campus commute daily from Ogbomoso; the new students also need more housing options; workers in the new businesses established in the axis are also in need of modern accommodation.
“So the area is fast becoming an urban attraction, and Dual Realty is committed to meeting the growing demand for housing in Iseyin, and shaping this town’s housing future.”
The statement further noted that the company offers “Dual Advantage”, in which prospective land buyers may buy and build immediately or buy and let the company farm on the land while they receive returns on the investment.
