FIVE suspects, including a staffer of the Usmanu Danfodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), Sokoto, have been arrested by the Department of State Security (DSS) for alleged sale of three children abducted from Zuru in Kebbi State.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu, who handed over the three children to their parents in Birnin-Kebbi on Sunday, named the suspects as Comfort Nwankwo of UDUTH, Dorothy Okonkwo, Uchenna Benedict, Helen Samuel and one Moses, who lives in Zuru.
He said that the three children, including a set of twins, were sold in Anambra State in connivance with Nwankwo and Moses.
Governor Bagudu commended security operatives for tracking and rescuing the children while assuring that the suspects would be prosecuted.
He urged parents to be vigilant and monitor their children to prevent them from falling victims of kidnappers.
Parents of the abducted children, Yusuf Umar and Rabi Kabiru, commended the governor, security agents and vigilance group members for rescuing the children who were abducted four months ago.
