At least four occupants of a commercial vehicle on Lokoja-Kabba road were said to have been abducted on Monday.
Apart from this, two other persons were also confirmed kidnapped along Itakpe-Adogo road on Sunday.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the four people that were kidnapped along Kabba-Lokoja road include a staff of a micro finance bank, identified as Olu Omole and the driver of the vehicle popularly called Sapamo.
The people were said to be heading towards Lokoja from Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu local government area of the state when they were abducted.
The kidnappers we’re said to have demanded for N10 million ransom before they would release the victims.
Unconfirmed reports however said the relatives of the victims were negotiating and the people had brought down the ransom to N4 million to free the hostages.
Also, two people who were traveling along Kogi State to Edo State were kidnapped by gunmen along Itakpe Adogo road in Kogi central senatorial district.
The commissioner of police, Kogi state command, Akeem Busari, who confirmed the incident, sad it happened on Sunday.
He said efforts were on to ensure that the hostages were unconditionally release and able to rejoin their families soon.
Busari however said the command was yet to be briefed on the kidnapping of the four people on Kabba-Lokoja road.
He said the command would double it’s efforts at ensuring that Kogi State in free of crime and criminals.
