The General Overseer, Palace of Priests Assembly, Pastor Otive Igbuzor, has charged Christians to vote out corrupt politicians during the 2019 general election.
He also said the corruption war of the Federal Government had not recorded any remarkable success because of the non-involvement of Christians and other faith leaders.
Igbuzor made the remark while speaking with journalists at the launch of the South/South and South/East segment of the Shun Corruption Project and Capacity Building for Christian Leaders on Christianity and Corruption.
The event was organised by the Priests Peace and Justice Initiative (PPJ) and was held in Warri.
Igbuzor, who is also the coordinator of PPJ, said Christian and other faith leaders had the capacity to influence their members.

“Part of the reasons why the fight against corruption has not been working is because Christians and other faith leaders have not been involved.
“Christian leaders have the capacity to influence their members, if they are really committed on the need to fight corruption, they have a lot of influence on their members,” he said.
The cleric advised Christians to participate actively in the 2019 general election and also vote against corrupt individuals.
He said the purpose of the event was to inculcate on the Pentecost church leaders, the core values of the church which were: preaching poverty, humanitarian crisis, election, leadership and corruption in the society.
According to him, the Pentecostal church has derailed from its mandate and now centres on prosperity, materialisms and individualisms.
“Since the emergence of Pentecostal church in the 20th century, the social-dimension of the church has decreased,” he noted.
“ There is public perception that Pentecostal church are now interested in prosperity, materialisms and individualisms as against its social-dimension which are: poverty, humanitarian crisis, election, leadership and corruption.
