The Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) disbursement of 1.5 billion naira to the poor and vulnerable women would commence soon in Kogi state.
It was earlier scheduled to commence, on Monday, but was shifted till a later date.
Kogi State Focal Person on the National Social Investment Program, Prince Abdulkareem Onyekehi disclosed, on Monday.
He said the date for the disbursement of the fund was shifted due to the launching of N-Power Batch C Stream one and the Flag Off of GEEP 2.0 by the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sa’adiya Umar Farouk, slated for 23rd and 24th August 2021 which attracted all the Focal Persons and other key officials of NSIP.
The focal person who is also the Special Adviser Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Special Projects reemphasised that the federal government would disburse the sum of twenty thousand Naira each for four months backlogs of January to April 2021 to over seventy-four thousand poor and vulnerable women in rural communities under close supervision of (NSIP).
He emphasised that Kogi State beneficiaries of CCT had been increased to seventy-four thousand, one hundred and one, which according to him was rated as one of the best in the country.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for initiating such a lofty program to alleviate poverty as well as Governor Yahaya Bello who perfectly keyed into it by funding the office and as well provide the logistics for smooth running of the office.
