The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Isaiah Bozimo, has lauded Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his appointment as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Delta State.
This is just as he admonished staff of his ministry on dedication and professionalism.
Bozimo, who addressed journalists shortly after defending the 2022 budget of his ministry at the Delta State House of Assembly complex, said he was particularly grateful to the governor of the state for finding him worthy of the plump job, assuring that he would do his best for the entire state to ensure the governor finishes strongly at the end of his stewardship to Deltans.

The Commissioner, who was accompanied to the House of Assembly by the ministry of justice solicitor general and Permanent Secretary, Omamuzo Erebe Esq and other top management staff of the ministry, said that ” we have defended the 2022 budget as it is , meaning we now have the means through which we have to realise our ambition and hope for 2022. My preference is not to look at what has happened in the past but to look at what we intend to do for the future which is to build upon the good works that has taken place in the ministry ”
He assured that under his watch in the years ahead, the ministry will introduce new innovative steps in taking the ministry to new level which has to do with reporting of judicial matters, collating and making available to the public the judgement of high court of Delta State which he said, will improved access to justice by members of the public and as well create a legacy in terms of memorialising the decisions to date .
The Commissioner added that the 2022 budget estimate of his ministry has equally made enough provision for the furniturnishing and other equipment for the Zonal offices so that staffers in those areas can perform their duties efficiently and ultimally.
He added, ” I am hopeful that the 2022 budget performance will suppercide what we have been able to achieve so far in 2021,”
Bozimo told journalists that the relationship between him , the Solicitor general and Permanent Secretary, including other officials of the ministry has been very collegiate and cordial since he came on board as the number one man of the ministry of justice .
He appealed to members of staff to put in their best for the service assuring that,he has their interest at heart , ” what I expect from the staff, is a level of professionalism, dedication to their work and a shared vision of achieving where we want to be as a ministry in terms of delivering our services efficiently and ultimally to the very best of our abilities ” he stated.
He appealed further to the staff to be patient with government on what ever they can provide for now for them to perform their respective duties effectively, remarking that government do not have the resources to provide every of their needs at once but will do the best they can as soon as fund is available.
” The needs of the ministry are infinite and the resources to service them are finite, that is to say, we do not have the resources to meet every single requirements of the ministry. I wish we can, but the economic reality suggest we do not . That means we have to prioritise on what we are able to do,” he concluded.
