The headquarters of the gospel ministry of music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, the Decross Gospel Mission Church, Agege, Lagos, will come alive today, as notable clerics and dignitaries from all walks of life join families, friends and the church to honour the Miliki king.
Tagged”76th Special Thanksgiving Service, the service is designed to celebrate the General Overseer of the mission, Ebenezer Obey, who added another year earlier this month.
According to Obey, the event is designed to thank God specially for the grace upon his life. “I am indeed grateful for the grace I have enjoyed as a musician and minister of God. The thanksgiving service is special to me, because this is the only way I can thank God for granting me the grace to witness another year. I look forward to a wonderful service full of undiluted thanksgiving to the Almighty,” he said.
One of the highpoints of the event is official launch of the Ebenezer Obey Music Foundation (EOMF), induction of one of his sons, Reverend Folarin Obey-Fabiyi as the deputy General Overseer of the church and the elevation of other ministers of God.
It was learnt that some clerics that would be elevated at the event, including Pastor Robert Adeagbo and Pastor (Mrs) Abosede Yinka-Ogundimu as reverends, while Mrs Bukky Folarin-Obey will be ordained as Pastor.
According to one of the pastors, Yinka-Ogundimu, the entire church is happy to honour Ebenezer Obey today, “the Miliki king remained a rallying point in the music world. I pray that the good Lord will continue to strengthen him. The entire Decross Gospel Mission will be happy to celebrate him today.”
