Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed satisfaction with the Pelican Ecostay Apartments, a real property project promoted by the Pelican Valley Estate Nigeria Limited in Kobape area of Ogun State.
Speaking in Abuja after a business presentation of the project done by the Pelican team led by the Pelican Chief Executive Officer, Babatunde Adeyemo, she expressed confidence that many Nigerians living abroad will be interested in it.
Dabiri-Erewa, who expressed willingness to partner with the Pelican Valley to ensure the success of the project, said she had watched the promoter, Adeyemo, for a long time and came to the conclusion that “he’s not the type of developer who will collect people’s money and run away.”
She added that she was particularly excited to see young Nigerian entrepreneurs working very hard in the real estate sector to help create jobs and complement the government’s efforts at addressing the nation’s housing deficit.
“Well done Mr Adeyemo. This is Pelican Valley in Ogun State. I’m sure Nigerians in the diaspora will be interested in the projects. So, you will give us further details about it. We wish you great success.
“It is nice to see young Nigerian entrepreneurs doing great things, doing businesses and working very hard. We are supposed to be good with our brothers and sisters in the diaspora and everywhere around the world. Hopefully, I should be able to buy one.
“I have watched him for a long time now and I think I’m particularly interested in what he’s doing. He’s not the type of developer who will collect people’s money and run away,” she said.
Earlier, Adeyemo had told the former federal lawmaker and veteran broadcast journalist that the first set of houses in the Ecostay Apartments, one of the estates projects promoted by the firm, would be commissioned on September 11, 2024.Â
He further told the NIDCOM CEO that while most of the subscribers to the houses have up till September 2025 to complete their payments via an instalment plan, the projects will be ready for possession September 2024, adding that the payment plan attracts no interest or hidden charge.
He also revealed that about N20 million has so far been expended on solar-power street lighting for the link roads in the eco-friendly estate and other Pelican estates, adding that access roads to over 10 neighbouring communities including Kobape, Egbeda, Galatia, Masha, Mosunmore, Ijo-Alafia have been lighted up.Â
