The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Command of the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday assured residents of the Territory and its environs that it would enforce all preventive orders issued by the government against the ravaging coronavirus scourge in the country.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Spokesman of the Command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah.
According to him, “in compliance with the social restriction order issued by the Federal Government to contain the spread of Covid-19 (corona-virus), the Command is working with the authorities of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) to ensure FCT residents adhere strictly with the government directives.
“While complying with the recent directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu on arrest and detention of suspects and adherence to necessary precautionary measures against covid-19 at all Police Divisions and formations, the Command wishes to avail FCT residents with the following Police distress call lines;-08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.

He disclosed that members of the public in distress could promptly contact the Command Control room through any of the above-mentioned distress call lines.
In addition, he said that the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Bala Ciroma had also mandated the Command’s Medical Officer to embark on enlightenment campaign at all Police Area Commands, Divisions and the Command Headquarters to educate police officers and men on precautions to observe in order to contain the spread of the contagious virus.
