An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 28-year-old man, Ayodele Ogundare, in prison over alleged armed robbery.
The Magistrate, Mr Timothy Abe, adjourned the case until Sept. 16 for legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 5 in Ado-Ekiti.
Akinwale said that the defendant, on the said date, armed with a gun and a cutlass, robbed the complainants, Ojo Oluwajuwon and Idowu Olarewanju of their valuables.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 2 (1), (a) and (b) of the Robbery and Firearms Act Cap R 11, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2001.
Akinwale said he had duplicated the case file and forwarded same to DPP for legal advice.
He urged the court to remand the defendant in prison pending receipt of the advice.
Plea of the defendant was, however, not taken in court.
