Comrade Mohammed Garba, Chief of Staff to former national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has refuted rumour making the rounds that the veteran politician is critically ill.

According to Garba on Monday, he assured the public that Ganduje is in stable condition and not facing any life-threatening health issues.

While acknowledging that the former governor might experience minor health concerns associated with aging, he emphasised that Ganduje remains strong and active.

He said, “There is absolutely no cause for alarm. Dr. Ganduje is fine. If there were any serious concerns about his health, we would not hesitate to inform the public so that supporters could pray for him.”

He also clarified Ganduje’s recent absence from the public eye, explaining that the former governor has been in London since the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Garba then added that this was the reason Ganduje did not attend Buhari’s funeral, fueling speculation about his well-being.

Speaking in the same vein, a family source, who preferred anonymity, corroborated Garba’s remarks, affirming that there is no truth to the rumours. “We’ve spoken with those close to him. He is doing well,” the source said.

It will be recalled that the public concern over Ganduje’s health spiked following his recent resignation as national chairman of the APC, which he attributed to health-related reasons.
