A fast-rising Nollywood actress and a corps member, Miss Titilope Orotoye, with state code no LA/19A/3334 has donated 20 pairs of classroom furniture to her place of primary assignment, Eti Osa Community Junior Secondary School, Sangotedo, Lagos State.
The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife alumnus and graduate of English presented the seats and gave prizes to some outstanding students, together with clothes and shoes during the send-off ceremony organised by the school to mark her end of the mandatory one-year national service.
The programme, which was held on the school premises on February 26, 2020, was themed, Giving is loving.
Miss Lope as fondly called by students, staff and fellow corps members in the school, was showered with encomiums for her teaching skills. Some of the students spoke of the good things she did for them as their teacher and how they will miss her.
The principal, Mrs M. A. Tokosi, in her remark said: “I was reluctant to sign and accept her posting letter because I felt she might not work effectively. But lo and behold, she surprised every one of us. She was even more effective than some regular teachers.

“On several occasions, she came to work even on her off days. I can say I have not met any corps member like her. We will surely miss her.”
The event ended with a farewell speech from Miss Orotoye, as she expressed her appreciation to students, staff, and management of the school for showing her love.
She said: “What inspired this project was when I saw students sitting on the floor while writing examinations. Some used the wall as tables due to lack of tables and chairs.
“The project was planned and carried out within two months. And for the love I have for these students, I will donate more furniture.”
The event had in attendance Nollywood actors like Saheed Bayonle, Amure Babafunmi and Fatai Titilope.
Also in attendance are the CEO Thornton Hill Nigeria Limited, Mr Courage Aigbede; Mrs V.M. Orotoye, a director in Kamiluiz Nigeria Limited and the principals of the junior and senior arms of the school, Mrs Tokosi and Mrs Ishola.
