Mercy Aigbe has described as unfortunate and embarrassing the public outcry that greeted the dress she wore for her 40th photoshoot birthday, which a bride to-be claimed to be hers.
Aigbe, who took to her Instagram handle to address the issue, said she sympathised with the bride, saying the situation was painful, unfortunate and regrettably avoidable.
The actress, who turned 40 recently, said she hired and paid one Seun, a stylist for the photoshoot and got four dresses for the shoot, adding that they were unaware that one of the dresses was meant for someone else.
“I am embarrassed that the designer was not professional enough in handling events leading to this moment. It is also painful that a bride is made to go through what she went through. I sincerely sympathise with the bride.”
The actress, who is currently on the set of Lekki Guys movie, said she reached out to both the stylist and designer, whom she had never met before to express her displeasure.
“I have instructed my lawyer to look into this and see how best to approach this from a legal point of view without festering an already open wound,” she said.
