NASARAWA State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-makura has called on religion and community leaders to caution their followers against hate speeches that are capable of degenerating to crises.
Governor Al-makura made the call on Saturday in Lafia, during the distribution of 35 security vehicles worth N642 million to security agencies in the state.
According to Al-makura, hate speeches could spark off crises that could lead to the loss of lives and properties, hence, the need to curtail it.
“Now that we are getting closer to the election, we need to curtail unnecessary speech that is capable of causing chaos in the state.
” I thank God that the security agencies have already started arresting persons making unguided utterances. And I urged the court to give them the level of punishment that they deserve “, he said.

The governor stated that his government will continue to support security agencies in the state in the discharge of their duties.
Nigerian Tribune reports that, Nigeria Police had an allocation of 22 hilux vans, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has 2, the Department of State Security has 2, Nigerian Army 2, the Nigerian Airforce 2 and 5 for security in government house.
