Nigerian streamer Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe and his baby mama, Emmanuella, have engaged in a public dispute over their relationship history and personal conduct following Efe’s recent rise to the top of Africa’s Twitch rankings.

Carter Efe recently became Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer with over 500,000 followers following a collaboration with Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido.

While celebrating this milestone, the content creator claimed he had endured two years of personal and professional setbacks linked to issues with Emmanuella, the mother of his daughter, Charis.

In a series of posts, Efe alleged that Emmanuella frustrated his life and career, noting that he trended frequently over allegations of physical abuse shared online by activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man.

He stated that the controversy affected his mental health, disrupted his content creation, and left him financially unstable for a long period.

He also claimed he was denied access to his daughter for about three months, a situation he described as deeply painful.

Recalling his early days, Efe shared photos of himself sleeping in a single room with his team while streaming to a few viewers.

He described being chased out of that room as a low point in his journey. The streamer, who said he has been single for over a year, claimed his ex-partner only showed renewed interest in his life after his recent success.

He credited God for his progress and stated he has noticed positive changes in his life since moving away from the situation.

In response, Emmanuella shared a video on Instagram to address Efe’s claims.

She expressed shock at his statement that they had been apart for over a year, asserting that they were still close recently and had been intimate just days before his public post. She described his statement as confusing and hurtful.

Emmanuella further accused the streamer of controlling her life and career. She stated that despite studying medical anatomy, she was discouraged from working in a hospital because Efe accused her of planning to have affairs with doctors.

She also claimed her ambition to become an actress was shut down because he did not support it.

According to Emmanuella, Efe often reminded her that he provided her online visibility and allegedly threatened to take it away.

She claimed he called her shortly before his posts to warn that he would share damaging content to ruin her image.

Regarding their daughter, Emmanuella alleged that she has to approach him directly before he provides money for the child’s needs.

She concluded that she felt pushed to speak out to clear her name and share her truth.
